Hello!

Need some help with my L reg Tipo. A few weeks ago the passenger side door stopped unlocking when I turned the key on the drivers side. I usually have to hold the key in position for a bit since the driver side door lock tries to engage... holding the key there makes it just remain open.

Using the key on the passenger side door doesnt work... its as if when it gets to the point the lock should open the lock wont turn any further, pulling the handle and trying to pull up the knob on the door (I had a set of pliers on it at one point) wont work.

Im not sure if its possible to reach any of the locking mechanism from the inside, I wouldnt mind some advice before I start tearing panels off!

Any help appreciated, cheers all.

i assume you have central locking - in which case it may be the door motor/solenoid. It could also be simply that your cars "brain" has got confused in which case unlocking/locking with the buttons pushed up and down manually may help or there is a problem with the wiring behind the main fuseboard. I have had this problem on my Sedici. The first time it was a dud solenoid, the second time the system just got out of sync, the third it was the fuseboard and I am afraid I had to use an auto electician.

The haynes manual gives guidence on how to dismantle the door. I hopw it proves to be a simple fix.
