Hello!

I want to show you some pics of my new break and suspension.

Suspension:
-shorted gas pressure dampers by Bilstein
-lowering springs by BEBE (70mm/50mm)

Breakes:
It comes from Tipo 16V; 54m brake caliper - piston diameter and 284x22mm break disk. The disks are heat-treated, perforate and slitted (with rolling direction).
The sport break pad have an higher rubbing (sorry, i don´t know the spc. word for it :( )
For the bigger breaks, it was necessary to use the axle-pivot of the 16V. I renews the wheel bearing and hub - because i don´t get out the old ABS-sensores, so i needed it too. (n)
The teflon brake hose comes with metal netting (sorry, i don´t know the spc. word for it :( ) around.
The (blue) sport break fluid have a higher boiling point.

The cleaned and painted break calipers:

The pics show my Tipo on the last italo-meeting in Geiselwind/Germany, where i get the second prize of car assessment (class of tipo/tempra) (pic3). (y)
You will find more pics of this meeting at www.fiattipo.eu shortly.

@Hellcat: Yes, it´s a 2.0 8V but i´m serching for an other engine with more output. Mhh, or i will increase the power of my 8V with the classic n/a engine tuning.

The springs comes from BEBE-exclusiv, the problem, since this year, the website of this firm doesn´t exist anymore - i think, the firm go broke.
I bought my springs from eBay in good condition for 130.-€ :slayer:

Here the old address for an inquiry on phone, i'm convinced that someone answer the phone, because a friend ordered some small parts three weeks ago.

BeBe Exklusiv
Finkenweg 2

Telephone: 0049 (germany)/ 2638 / 1482

If you want, i will phone for you?!

best wishes ~shar~

PS. i hope, you can understand my poor english?! :(

That looks very sexy indeed :yum:

Could you phone the spring people and ask them if the springs are compatible with adjustable Koni Shocks and get prices for all 4 springs + shipping?

Also, did you have to roll your arches to prevent the wheels from rubbing? my friend has a problem on a VW MK3 with only a 60mm drop and his back tyre walls are shredded to pieces.

Thanks mate (y)

Hello!

Yes, the springs are compatible - if you want, you could drive the spring with the original shock absorbers but this combination isn´t really ideal.
I will phone them - i think, on Monday i know more.

The rims are in 7x16 offset 37 with 195/45R16. I decided for this dimension, because i don´t want to roll my arches (i belive, they will begin to oxidize in some years). And the acceleration and maximum speed will not become worse.

best wishes ~shar~

i see you have painted the calipers. where the caliper slides, this should be free of paint as it will interfere with the sliding ability quickly. i would remove the calipers and clean this bit back to smooth shiney metal. a tip also, is to file the edges of the pad metal part that slides in the carrier. then a spot of copaslip to stop it seizing. otherwise, a nice conversion :)
