Going North on the A9...
hello everyone,

I am hoping to shortly be joining the ranks of Tipo owners, and I have a question...

I am looking at an M-reg 1.4 i.e. in Lewisham (although I have yet to engage the seller) and am wondering if anyone can tell me if this car is likely to have power steering..?

My folks had one of these back-in-the-day, and I can't remember whether it had power steering...!

Any advice greatfully received!

Thanks

JimP

M reg (1995?) would definitely have power steering. Mine is a 1994 S and has the power steering, it was originally an NI car and was imported down to ROI in 1999 so is the same spec as a UK car.

OK, thanks for that Stephen-

that was my feeling on it too.

I just can't remember that far back, to when my folks had one.

As it happens I think I have missed out on that car, so the search continues..!

Ah, thanks varesecrazy

that shows what I know then. (nothing)

When about's did the model revision come in?

And what, externally would tell me? Would dark-plastic bumpers be indicative of a Mk 1 for instance, and body coloured be indicative of a Mk 2..?

yes, it does seem a bit of a tall order!

I have a feeling I've just missed out on a good one in Lewisham

I'm going to be able to take the search a bit more seriously in about 10 weeks...

If you're genuinely interested then pop down to North Yorkshire for this one... I really can't see you finding a better one and the price is fair from a Lancia / fiat specialist..

One of the last with the revised engine and safety pack (height adjustable drivers seat, driver airbag, pretensioners).

Nice alloys too.

Hey Bluejohn-

Thanks for that.

Walkers the Integrale guys?

Gosh, that is indeed a good example. The floor under the boot carpet and general patina of the engine bay suggest quite a good life.

Unfortunately, at £900, I can't stretch that far, at this point in the year.

If I'd only seen that in January...
