Nice spoiler (y)

Yes I do rather like the spoiler. My old 1990 Tipo back in the day had the same spoiler and the grille with the spot lights in it.. wish I still had the grille at least.
Unfortunately that tailgate is now off the car and not sure what the story would be trying to acquire a glass to replace the smashed one..

Not sure about Ireland but over here there's probably one on a dusty shelf somewhere waiting for someone to ask for it....

I was lucky to find an exhaust system for a 1.4 1.4ie petrol 15 miles away in Chester, they had an Ebay ad for a similar one but with different flange fittings, I enquired about buying it and when they checked they found the correct one waiting on a shelf, just not advertised.

I did recently see a NOS front windscreen advertised for a Tipo over here however due to dreaded lockdown restrictions with Covid travel is not possible.

I shudder to think of all the useful bits thrown in the skip over recent years and clearouts of dealerships and motor factors.

You were very lucky with the exhaust find blueJohn and no doubt the vendor was delighted to shift it on.

Here is my 1990 Tipo from back in the day. Wish I still had that now. Note the grille I really want! Also see the accessory catalogue snapshot. If anyone out there has one of these grilles please get in touch!

There is one of these grilles with integrated lights on ebay - at least I saw that recently.

ah - the maroon tipo - i think that was closest to completion, but any update if there is one...

Apologies Jonti. Not much to update, the red one will be a very slow burner. The maroon one still needs the rear valance welded, a rear exhaust section and tyres. I am moving house in August so unlikely anything will be done until the Autumn. I had been hoping to have the maroon Tipo NCT'd (Irish equivalent of MOT) so I could drive it to the new residence but probably not going to happen. Seems a shame as it's close to the finish line. I can't get anyone local to me to carry out the welding and I tried and failed at it previously myself.. just ended up causing more damage!
Also I notice the maroon one seems to be losing coolant but no obvious source of a leak, just been running it on the driveway. I'm wondering is the water pump as I fitted a new alternator previously and maybe with the belt tightening it has put pressure on the water pump.

Do they not do welding, or just not want to do this? It's a shame there is a body of water in the way I'd wish to try to help. In retrospect my machine struggled with 0.6 wire and 0.8 is actually working better on thin stuff. It sounds like some progress but I feel these cars like to fight you all the way :D

Sorry been a while since I was here. If only for the sea I would indeed be very grateful for your help Jonti. Thankfully a friend has offered to take on the job next month so fingers crossed the welding might be complete by September. A lot of garages here just have no interest in older cars so its almost word of mouth that you come across someone who knows someone who is handy with the welder. As I said I did try but I'm afraid if I persevere I will do more harm than good.

Has anyone any idea what these fuel pipes should look like? These feed and return pipes although new don't look right i.e. positioning looks suspect, look to be rubbing off steel parts on the engine and that's not good. Thanks.

This crew went to the great scrap yard in the sky a few weeks ago. Unfortunately you just can't keep everything although they were fairly well harvested.
