Did I use the word 'system'? Ah well… ;)

The bits are the right bits. Honest. That is, when in place they fit in the right bit of the car and match up with the old exhaust pretty well.

t's just that the 2 main sections don''t really fit together exactly as they should (apparently, mid section should 'slide' into the silencer section)… so some (obviously flawed) fettling was needed.

Update: the Tipo's exhaust is now fine, but he's suddenly got seriously sick. :( Trying to work out whether it's the timing belt, the clutch or both... I'll need to get it sorted, but right now I don't even want to risk driving it to the garage.

This lovely beast may be a lemon after all. :( :( :(

So, here's the symptoms:

The car 'whistles' in a kind of burbly way when the clutch pedal is down. The note changes when idling in neutral to a whistle/flap/knock... And something (not the main engine) sounds rough whilst accelarating or coasting... Mechanic originally advised me the whistle was probably a dry bearing and nothing to worry about. Today, all these symptoms got much worse.

What the hell is up? Is this timing belt failure?

Any advice is appreciated.

Cheers
(A very glum) Camo
