Going to fit a Strut Brace but need to purchase it first... yeah I'm keeping the Tipo... depending on if NeedForSpeed can supply me the goods, they said they can :)

Anyways because my Tipo is sooo strange there are two possibilities with the Strut Brace:

OMP: MA-1679
OMP: MA-1669

Motorsport World said that 1669 don't exist, other websites say 1679 will fit a Tipo 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.016v all with PAS....

I have PAS.... I also have a big Carburettor in the middle

Any Ideas you Tipo Fella's?

Thanks : (y)

Take a photo from strut tower to strut tower. I will do the same. I believe there is probably nothing in the way between the two on either of our cars and they are the same width. If you post some measurments, then I'll do some Sedici measuring.

One thing though Trance is are you replacing the lower arms and the rubber inside with poly bushes? If not you probs wont feel any difference with a strut brace fitted. If its just for show then never mind!

Apologies for spellling but I've had 2 bottles of Chimay Blue :D

If I can find poly Bushes  And you tell me where the Lower Arm be located  then they wil get replaced.

There might be something in the way on my Tipo... the Big Carburettor Hat type thing.

I'l take pics of it tomorrow and post em up ere... and pics of all me loose wires.. maybe someone can tell me what they are/were for :p

I'd definately recommend one! (y) www.strutbracer.co.uk You will notice the difference by a long shot, it makes the car feel so much taughter & the steering more direct! (y) Personally I would forget about poly bushes for the road as I know lots of people that have fitted them & you'll half the life of your lower suspension arms! (n)

I went to StrutBracer.co.uk and they told me that the MA-1669 is the one for me and I've been told elsewhere that it does not exist (n)

What do these Bushes do and where do they go?

I don't have standard suspension, I have 35mm dropped Eibachs and Adjustable Koni Shocks at the front.

I don't really want to half the life of £350 worth of Shocks

Talk to me, Tell me :)

Poly bushes fit in the lower suspension arms they tighten the steering & suspension but are too stiff for the road IMO! (n) With all the potholes & drains on english roads they could cause you problems with the lower wishbones. Mind you only after a certain mileage.

agree with Ben R.you need to have a bit of give for the road.you have lowered and stiffened anyway,so your wishbones are working harder.the strut will tighten the suspension up.there will be less tendancy for the wheels to lose their geometry so improved grip and handling.buy one with an adjustable thread in the middle.and enjoy.:D (y)

ben tipo is single wish bone set up, there is no reason poly bushes will cause any negative effects. tipo has mc pherson struts, it very simple, heres mine fitted from superflex,

Where's the engine gone? :DTons of space in that bay. If you get a brace you will have no problem fitting it in.

LOL I know, I could smuggle small people in there :p

With lots of space it's easier to work on... and it weighs less :D but pulls nice... when its working properly (n)

When I finish Uni and if I still have it I may make it a Supercharged Twin Turbo... I mean why not there is snough room for it.

Thing I wasn't sure on is if any of the high bits would be in the way!

I should warn all you sneekyvalvemobil owners, I stopped a sneekyvalvmobil one night at the lights and had a quick chat with him, I asked him which way he was going and quickely organised a race.

I beat him and I had two passengers* :D This was before I was a member of the Forum and when me motor was ticking properly. I would have told him to join the Forum.

I'm sure he lives in Kentish Town somewhere, he has a red a one, maybe I should go look for him.

Maybe it wasn't a real sneekybeakyvalvolemole, just a 1.6 pretending to be a 2.0 with a 2.0 front bumper :pOnce I get the new cambelt and the timing sorted by Walkers I'll pop along to York and see what I can do over the 1/4 mile. Dont fancy flogging her when the belt change is just around the corner.
