Cheers for your interest! Not looking too bright for the Tipo at the mo as I've found an alternative source of Velour. c/o of an old Focus acquisition :yum:



I've still got a consignment of panels due in from Italy for the Teapot it was too late to cancel lol, here is the chunk missing from the front sill & floor and the double layer sill. Oh and the holes behind the struts





Weather doesn't help, every time you walk out the door its blooming raining

If you like velour, may I suggest a Punto HLX? Forget the focus, it's just a ford: sell it to a banger racer, lol!

I didn't realise this. Until how recently?

Like, forever, lol! My Grande has lush velour seats as well!

If you like velour seats, then these are your options: the mk1 Punto ELX, the mk2 Punto HLX/Eleganza, and the Grande Punto Eleganza. I don't know what other Fiats offer the luxury of velour, lol!

Keep on at the Tipo as and when you can, don't get disheartened or resentful!

As for Fiat velour, my 2001 Brava Formula has dark grey velour seats with lots of little white spots in the centre panels. I'd much prefer the green / blue cloth that some or the earlier lesser models had...

Does the Tipo have the beige check cloth interior?

My hat is off to you, Jonti, but I think importing a sound LHD model would have been my preferred choice, thence converting it to RHD, using the necessary parts from the rust bucket.

No it was described as grey cloth lol, it's the most luxuriant material imaginable

Pure luxurious gorgeousness there, you lucky chap.

My seats have this dishevelled wheatfield vibe going on. Some days I literally yearn for grey!

How is the bodywork coming along?

As soon as it warms up a bit I'll survey the wreckage again. How lucky you are to be whizzing around in a functional Tipo bar exhaust, even a wheatfield lol !

Hi , Jonti , thats one hell of a good job you are doing with the Tipo , I have never seen one that bad !
I am a big fan of the Tipo , I bought mine at 1 year old in 1990 for £5500. and still have it , planning to post some pictures but I think you need 5 posts before you can upload photos, as you can see I am a new member.

Still blooming freezing here garage is like a fridge lol. The last registered keeper of my car was a lady in Buxton too Michael, mind you that's going back some time! She liked driving up kerbs fast I think.

I am lucky I have indoor space to work on cars now as the weather in buxton can be very changeable, on saturday it was bright sunshine like a summers day in the morning,
come 4 pm it was snowing !!!!!!!

There was a slight catastrophe which forced a workaround. I've been taking pics of progress however and I will get something up in the next couple of weeks
