Hi all, I've been readin through me Haynes manual to find out some interesting stuff about my Tipo and how it works.

There are all these Vacuume hoses and Thermostats which measure air and temperature to give the best fuel economy at all times.

These are all decided by the 'DigiPlex 2' ECU and some other mechanical components.

Not all our Tipos have this ECU (some don't have any)

Was wondering if there was anyone who has any equipment to reprogram it to perhaps.. make it go faster OR if anyone knew if they are possible to reprogram?

I asked R-Tec About their ECU programming but they said they don't do it for Tipo's.

As far as I know the ECU in a tipo or even a bravo is not programable, as the memory is read only. You can replace the ECU with a programable one although it would have to be a bespoke chip. Best way to get a bit more out of the engine would be a tune-up from an Italian car specialist. This method should require no increases in insurance as its not modification. My tipo is going to Walkers Garage soon to have its sensors correctly adjusted.

you can get chips and stuff which replace the one in the ECU. its jsut a straight swap. done on the cinquecento all the time to give much better pulling etc. finding a chip for a tipo though (if they exist) is a bit of a pain. ive seen things around on german ebay which might be worth a look.
