hi there
i need to take a look at the alternator on my TD tipo but i cant figure out how to remove the alternator !!!
The alternator is loose but i cant find a path for the thing to come out, it seems to foul on the steering rack or the turbo or on the inner arch....
any ideas... i need help :bang:

I had mine out last winter.. You need to remove the power steering pump and its pulley. Its a pain but much preferable to removing the turbo. A few bolts and a couple of brackets. Just check which bolts come out of where.

Its a big lump of an engine to fit in a little bay. No comments from the coupe owners please... Sardine tins and all.

Let us know how you get on.. or out as the case may be. Not sure how the altenator belt takes being tightened up again. Mine squeeks when its wet which will have to stay until next cambelt in about 10-20k.

took a bit more time than anticipated and the brake line on the rear bulkhead needed a bit of persuasion to get the thinb out.
