To improve the look and performance of the rear brakes - and to avoid the dark art of drum brake setup - I'm looking to swap my drum brakes for discs.

I can see from family's Tempra that the setup with swing arm etc is the same as the tipo however the Tempra is not looking like its going to die a death anytime soon, so other sources for parts are needed.

Anyone know if the bravo 2.0 uses the same swingarm as the tipo? I know the main swing arm bearing where it attaches to the sub frame is the same (have replaced tipo's bearings with said parts) but it looks like the wheel bearing might be different - stub fixed on the bravo where as the tipo uses a git big hex bolt and nut.

I'm probably pushing the limits of backwards compatability but the chances of finding a disc spec tipo/tempra in the scrappys is almost nill. Anyone have any experience or pointers I would appreciate otherwise I will just bumble on and post my findings!

Hey Hellcat

Did you ever get this sorted? I want to upgrade all my brakes and I'm thinking of getting them off an old Alfa 146 Ti. You reckon they'll fit? I though I read somehwere that the Marea has the same brake fittins and you can do a hot swap. any ideas or advice?

Cheers

Im doing a disc conversion. I picked up a Dedra for parts. Dedra/Tipo/Tempra are exactly the same.

Bravo etc will have the same brakes parts, but some parts of the suspension may be a slightly different.

i had my drum brakes converted to discs last week. i used parts from an alfa 146... perfect fit. just make sure you buy the handbrake cables for disks that fit tipo's
