Ok so im having problems with the newly fitted (well almost) brake system. :bang:

I need to know which way the pipes go on the brake bias valve (at the rear of the car). Or even a schematic of the valve (so i can work it out).

I wrote down how the pipes went in before removing it and am 99% certain ive put them back on the same way but im having problems and from looking at the outside of the valve (from the way i see the valves supposedly functioning) i would of thought it would of worked the opposite way.

Please help, my holls off work start next week and i want to go for a tour!

Sorry forgot to get the camera under the car..

I'm at work until around 10 tonight so I'll have a go of getting it backwards over the "pit" tomorrow.

So far I REALLY reccomend the bilstein budget suspension kit from powerfiat.. It has completly transformed the Tipo from unpredictable death trap to graceful road eater :D

Sorry just noticed a bit of Hellcats post.

Yes i did check the bias valve for movement.
It was siezed but i got if free again and checked the little piston things could move freely.
Im not sure if it cuts off when pressure is applied to the arm or removed from it. (didnt pay much attention whn freeing things up)
Will be going down tomorrow in the hope i can have it sorted for monday.

Hellcat you said the only other tipo in town is now RIP. Do you know where as i may be able to get the bias valve if mine is up the creek??

If the worst come to the worst its pretty well hidden and probably would not be seen if bipassed. This would mean 100% brakiing to the rear 100% of the time. If unoticed this should still pas the MOT yes?

Cheers, Mark

Couldn't get a very good photo, I thought a little diagram might help.

Hellcat that was excellent. Much apreciated. (y)

So now i know i have the valve in the correct way (and im not trying to force the fluied the wrong way through) so now i know that either fixing or replacing the valve is the solution.

Lets hope i can fix it as i dont want to spend too much on it before i find out just how reliable it will be. :D

If your valve turns out to be a duff you should be able to use the bias valve off any Tipo and possibly bravo/brava. I'm using one off a 1.4 Tipo and having no problems with the little anchors! Try the scrap yards or if its still there see if you can get the black 1.9td from the guy on the headland.

He lives somewhere here!

It was just sat on Old Cemetary Road outside his house so if its not scrapped it's obvious to find. He did want to sell it for about 20 quid - I would have had it for parts but suffering a lack of storage space. If you get it there are a few parts I wouldn't mind buying from you. Front grill, rear nearside door, tail gas struts, bumper, gearbox.

P.S. Still got the radio (y)

i have a brand new one somewhere you can have for peanuts if I can find it, def have second hand one as wel agian somewhere. I've done away with it on my race car.

rich

sedeciRich cheers for the offer. If i have no luck with the black td i might take you up on it. (y)

Im off for a fortnight now (wanted to have had it done by now so i could have fun on holls but never mind) so i will have a walk over the headland tomorrow to see if its still there.

If it is you can have whatever is usable off it Hellcat, i have more than enough space for it and my fathers friend works in scrap metal so can get rid of whatever is left even if it ends up without wheels (which it no doubt would, waste not ewant not)

Whilst on the subject of no wheels i have and escort which im breaking (and is in my drive on bricks. sold the wheels but it cost me a broken pinky :( when the floor pan collapsed when jacking it up) so if anyone knows someone who wants a few bits ill part with bits to finance my tipo resto. :D

SedeciRich.
You say you have done away with yours on your track car. Do you know if it would still pass an mot like that?

I had a look for that tipo and its gone. Will have a look around the scrap yards tomorrow to see if I can find it. Most likely I'll find it dumped on Crimdon Dene beach :)

I'd take SediRich up on his offer - then you can claim you own a racing tipo - or at least a part of one :D
