... Because the stuff available on the local Brazilian market is absolute rubbish. Somehow, my Sedicivalvole managed to get this far with the majority of its original components intact, but, if I have to rely on Brazilian parts when something important does decide to break, I'll be royally screwed. :bang:

So, any information you guys could share regarding both original and performance parts would be highly appreciated. I'd love to know what companies make the good stuff, which parts fit on the Tipo and which don't and where to look for them. I have some contacts in Europe already (Italy, Portugal and Germany/Denmark) who could hunt said parts for me, so location isn't really a concern.

At the moment, my main concerns are engine and suspension, which are subjected to the most abuse from our "asphalt" and gasoline. I'm also looking for the original 15 inch alloy wheels, since Brazilian Tipos were sold with 14 inchers and the original badges, since mine are a little worn out.

Sorry for the long post and for not really knowing what I'm looking for, but, being used to old American cars, this is all really foreign to me... :(

I've managed to keep my standard Tipo alive because of a very good general car parts supplier we have out here in the sticks in SE Spain, but I have no idea where they source parts from, although many are manufactured by Valeo, a lot appear to be OE.

RED64, most parts are also from Alfa Romeo, try to look there, Alfa 164 and Fiat Tipo share some parts.

Let me help 164 wont share many parts with the tipo - well maybe a bolt of 2.

Cars with the same floor pan are Fiat coupe, tempra, bravo, brava, marea, Alfa romeo 145, 155, 146, 916 gtv (modified rear), Lancia nuevo delta, dedra.

Most of the cars above have wider track then the tipo thus wish bones are longer and track arms on the rear have more offset, you can use them but you need the struts to go with it and the steering arms for the rack. gear boxes for the natuarally aspirated cars re virtually all the same.

Engine wise the thema, delta integrale , coupe 16v and 16vt share the main components. You cant get fiat pistons in europe any more for a 16v. Guy Croft maintains a stock of 16v rebuild items as best as he can.

Valeo and Nissens make very good aftermarket parts and probably were OE suppliers to Fiat.

Thanks for the replies everybody! (y)

I was out of the country until recently, so I couldn't reply sooner, but I managed to aquire a set of suspension parts in Argentina, which I've already installed, since my old ones were busted anyways, and, though I didn't do a lot of driving yet, they look like they'll hold better than the locally manufactured ones, which were just that bad. :bang:

Rich, thanks for the tip on the Guy Croft forum. I applied for a membership about a week ago and I plan on aquiring a copy of his manual as soon as possible as well. I'll look into those manufacturers as well, but I have a feeling my engine parts actually did come from Valeo (long story short, they were ordered by someone else who was supposed to help me with the engine but didn't), which is great because the engine is in great shape and I won't have to worry about it for a while.
