Hi out there - I'm just about to fit new shocks to my 1991 Tipo and have read in one of the threads that it just a 10 minute job - so before I strip out the fuel tank and exhaust system to find the top inner bolts, could anyone help with the 10 minute method?

The shock top bolts are behind plastic plugs just above the subframe, accessed from inside the wheel arch. You will need a socket on an extension, and try not to drop the bolt into the subframe as you extract it.

I don't have a photo handy, perhaps someone else will.

bolt will probably dissappear down chassis leg, normally ends up down behind the seat, and if you have small hands you should be able to get it out. ideally pull your seat forward and put a peice of card or rag in first!

Thanks for your replies - had managed to find the captive bolts by dropping the exhaust pipe and then used silicone (run out of chewing gum) in the sockets to withdraw the bolts. Tipo now drives round corners rather than bounces round them - great result even if just a bit longer than 10 mins. Again many thanks for your help.

Just for reference under the rear seats you will see 2 rubber plug/covers/plates these are at the end of the chassis rail and are there to catch the lost bolts from removing the rear shocks - I know I've used them!!
