I`ve found an old skool scrappy in Hertfordshire thats got a Tipo (he didnt know the model but its a 5-door), I`ll be going up, probably early next week (depending on the weather) to get a door off of it for my Tempra (in white! (y)), but if any of you lot want me to get anything else off of it, let me know.

I can post smaller stuff if you want.

Cheers!

Hiya Mate,

Do toy think you'd be able to get the timing belt cover off this one, Ill pay the postage and any other charges,

Cheers,
John

Hopefully this week, I`ve only got my Jag at the moment as my grey Uno`s gearbox broke a couple of weeks ago, but the door wont fit in the Jag...

I`m expecting 1 of my other 3 runarounds to come back to me in the next few days, then I can go.

In theory Wednesday-Friday...

I know someone in Ireland who was breaking a Tipo which would reduce your postage, but what year and engine is yours? timing belt covers do vary fella!

Where abouts in Ireland is he breaking it??

Mine is a 1.4, 16 Valve, I use the engine in a racing car so a specific year is not possible to say. I reckon once i get a tipo cover i can make it work!!

Cheers,
John

I still havent been able to go, I was expecting my Uno back 2 weeks ago, but thanks to the weather & a broken wishbone, he still has it.

Instead I got my Panda back yesterday, the thing is I dont know if the Tipo door will fit through the hatch hole of the Panda....

I dont fancy driving up there (about 30 miles away), freezing my fingers off removing it, to then find it wont fit in the car!

So, could one of you please measure the overall height & width of a Tipo rear door so I can check if it`ll fit?

My Tempra is in Kent, about 40 miles from me & the guy who was using it was diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago & has been in hospital since, so he obviously cant measure it.

Thanks!

Well I went yesterday! got the door, that took about 15 minutes, then I spent about 3 hours wandering round the huge yard taking pics! what a place!

I did message you Mr Teapotter! I went again today too (to get a Panda door, windscreen & roof bars & some Uno trim).

Anyway, heres some pics :)

Just spotted this comment, next year it'll be i've only got my Aston Martin at the moment :D

great scrapyard pics by the way, can't beat a good old fashioned rummage yard. I love the fifties removal lorry/horsebox thing, looks straight out of Herges adventures of Tintin

Oh yeah, this time next year I`ll be a miwyunayre mate! :D

It was a superb yard, I havent been to one like that for a good 15 years, I spend a good 5 hours over 2 days there, taking pictures, till one of the owners took exception...

That furnature van was one of my favorites, the faded writing was the best bit, my Mum recognised the company & could decypher that all the writing said from memory!

Heres some more pics ;)

PS, its lucky I didnt spend £20 getting that caliper carrier for teapotter, looks like he sold his Tipo....
