Hello, I`m the owner of a Tipo 1.4, with monopoint injection system and have been having some problems lately that me and my mate can`t figure out.

The last six month`s I`ve experinced that my car wouldent start, the first time we had been on a longer road trip (warm car) , and pulled in to do some shopping, 10 minutes later i was back at the car, and it wouldent start. 2 hours later i could start it, and drive away.

Another time, i was going to work in the morning ( car was cold), it wouldnt fire up, but in the afternoon it started right up.

The last time it happends, i pulled into a gas station and filled her up, when i tried to start again i got nothing, and havent been able to start it since.

The engine turns over, everything sounds like it should when i crank the engine, but we have figured out that i have no spark at the sparkplugs nor at the coil, and when looking into the injection system while cranking that i does now disperse/spray fuel.

Anyone had similiar experiences or have a clue whats wrong ?

Cheers

I found an old thread on here wich also mentions the crank pulley sensor, i measured the resistence on it and it had 786.0 Ohms wich is within the levels given i the thread. Should i still susspect that sensor ?

Also acording to the Haynes workshop manual, I`ve tested the primary and secondery resistances on the coil, the primary resistance is within the levels given in the book. But the secondery resistance is over whats given in the book
Is that something to worry about, and can it couse the problems I`m experiencing ?

Cheers

replace ignition module on distibutor. had same problem on my 1400 uno,, same motor as 1400 tipo

Old thread, but anyway: Check Digiplex earth behind the headlamp on the driver´s side. It is the only connector with two black wires going in.
