Hi, I'm new to the forum I have a 1994 1.4 Fiat Tipo that needs a headlamp connector to make it roadworthy again (it failed its last MOT because of this). Could you tell me if I have to replace the entire headlamp unit or just the connector? I live in the birmingham area any suppliers you know of would be gratefully received.

is it the same as the uno one for the h4 halogen? a black cube of sorts with three wires coming out the back, that push fits on to the back of the bulb?

if so, any number of motor factors like lloyds, bennets, euro car parts etc, should be easily able to source(y)

sounds about right, didn't think of that with my old one which had a problem with the connecter!

A grand to fix a broken headlamp?! Name and shame!

Another option is to go to a scrap yard and get the connector off a car with a similar bulb. H4 i believe which will be used on hundreds of cars. Snip off the connector with a few inches of wire, then snip off yours and solder and insulate. I did both headlamps way back on my black tipo.

That was a nationwide auto centre but thanx to you guys i got my part for next to nothing on the way :worship:

You can definitely use the Uno connectors, cut them off a scrap car and solder in or use a choc-block. I did this a couple of years ago on mine, the original connector burnt itself out.

Funnily enough, the wires on the Uno were much thicker than the Tipo..
