General what have you done for her lately

did a small paint touch up in places last night with left over paint from my wing mirrror.
today i've fitted the new heater tap and no more leak:D got some coolant hose to connect up in the engine bay but forgot the jubilee clips so can't connect it up just yet. fitted the shiny new white mirror, which was a bit of a job! i would of thought the connectors would of been in the door not by the fuse box!

all i've got to do now is to connect up the heater in the engine bay, trace the leak in the boot which is still proving elusive, then cross my fingers for the MoT! tax it on the 1st of october and enjoy hopefully :)

last bill £840. Todays track day - need new t-pull cable and sheared a fuel fitting but may not replace. New slicks are awesome.

i watching your progress for long time now.. read also about you in motorsport news i think...
really like your car and i know that keep it on track is really expensive /i have 2years of experience with building MK2 escorts for rally/
but really hard to beat fun on track if everything work properly... good luck to you...

Besbie thanks, maybe i will post some progress in this forum later on, if work go faster...

gave the interior a good clean, vacuumed the carpets and dusted the dashboard, the interior is nice now(y) just waiting on delivery of my cleaning stuff to give the outside a great clean. and next wednesday i can take it out for a good drive when i tax it :D still haven't solved the leak in the boot though :( i'm wondering if the water is coming in through the rear light perhaps.:chin:

ohh also the dash bit by the window is sticky probably from sitting in the sun for 15 years lol. any idea how to solve that?

Started to treat sum rust underneath the car and after descovering that a previous owner has cut the suspension springs have decided to replace the whole lot with a proper kit just a simple case of finding and deciding what one to go for hence the new thread i started so any info would be great.:D

its never ending - its killing me. Buta third in class with 54 second mallory lap was pretty good.

New oil cooler, ducting and tubing -115 degrees is a little warm

Re-skim discs yet again,

Worn out from the weekend and go a stinking cold. Oh see my videos in the members motors bit

taxed it this morning and went out for a spin, but anywhere near 6000rpm and a squealing starts, coming from the location of the heater tap (which is a new part) i'm hoping it's just a loose connection somewhere, pissed off if it's the tap again:bang:

on the plus side it's great to be driving it again:slayer:

i think i have found the leak:D i think it's the rear light, the seal was a bit rubbish so i've used plenty of vaseline on it to hopefully seal it. only thing is that on the lights only the top screw screws up tight? the rest hold it but keep going round and not eventually stopping??

also pissed off a boy racer in a focus by sticking to his rear bumper all the time except when he broke the speed limit lol. but always caught up with him at mini roundabouts and junctions:devil: wasn't even trying to be honest lol.

all cars are girls, they cost you a fortune, they can get you mad enough to punch a wall and they only look good when they have got there slap on (polish) lol

True. But I figured as the diesel is smelly, noisy, uncouth and with power but no finesse it was a He.

Having had the gearbox recond and refitted by a garage I've had to fix the inevitable collateral damage no reversing lights and damaged gloplug wiring and reapplied copper ease to the mounting screws so they don't weld themselves to the mounts.

As the recon gearbox didn't solve the vibration problem I fitted a new rear mount damper from Fiat at outrageous cost (strangely with a Renault logo like the old one, which has helped.
