Technical Tipo turbo diesel cluth fault

Just got car back from MOT and when I change gear slowly (1st or 2nd e.g heavy traffic)the clutch pedal fails to return to normal position. Nothing apparently wrong with clutch itself and initial inspection appears that fault lies between cluth and pedal. If I place foot under clutch pedal and lift to normal position it stays there. If I change gear normally pedal returns to normal position.
Relevance of MOT ? - It worked perfectly well before that - not sure if prodding around has caused fault or new driver with heavy foot. Any suggestions to cause and cure please

Your clutch slave cylinder is failing/leaking. In a few weeks you will not be able to change gear at all!!

Also it shares the hydraulic fluid with your brakes (check the level NOW!!)

It is not all bad, as it is a cheap (if you do it yourself), relatively easy repair.

Buy a clutch slave cylinder (I think it is a dealer only part for £28.74 (October last year)) and some brake fluid.

Remove the battery and tray (the slave cylinder is under it.

Replace the slave cylinder. (it is as easy at that, few bolts and the pipe connection and that's it).

With a partner bleed the air out of the system (this is where you may need some more brake fluid). Was a lot easier than doing the brakes

Put the battery back.

Drive off.

I have to disagree, not with the diagnosis but with the in a few days you wont be able to shift at all... I have an infant and havent got to changing the slave on mine with the same problem... its been about 4 months sense it started. butto have a truely "safe" car you might want to get that fixed (as should I)
