I need some new bushes for my front control arms.

I see Powerflex bushes are avaiable. Does anyone know how they come, easy to fit and refit to a new arm?

I could buy new complete arms for less than the price of these bushes alone, what do you think, are powerflex worth the money?

If you have good ball joints on the outer part then replament bushes are fine - ball joint rubber boots can also be replced seperately.

To change the bushes, cutt off the exising step washer on the out side of the bushed, butcher the bush to get the circular peice with the nuts on free. You may need to burn the bush to do that. Clean up the circular bit - very sharp knife and some oil helps that.

Remove the inner steel part of the bush - this will be near impossible but pulling - I use a bench grinder to grind that tube down to nearly nothing, where it then cracked and I could get a screw driver in to open it up and pull it off. Clean up the wish bone ends with some wet/dry. Add a little copper slip and some wd40.
Press the new PU bush into the circular bit - use a vice and some lube.

Prpceed with a block of wood to small the new step tube on with the bush in place - remeber to fitt the inner step washer first.

Repeat the other side. This is fairly hard work but I managed it. Shame you dont live here I have some brand new debushed tipo bones in the garage!!
