I've a 1994 Tipo 1.6e with 90 000 km

I have the problem that the car will suddenly start a rev-idle-rev-idle cycle with about a 2 second period. I read the following tip http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_3053.html which pointed me to the idle-control step motor, and the mechanic effectively found a problem with mine (my car is right now being repaired - the problem quickly became severe).

And today I read here that it could be something far less costly! Yikes. I guess I'll see whether the 250 € part will do the job or not.

I'll keep you posted

The replacement of the idle control step motor seems to have solved the problem. The cost was 150 € for a used part + labor.

My new mechanic seemed to think that this might solve the hot starting problem, but it didn't. If anyone could answer my question about the little black tubes that lead to the carburator (see the thread "hot start problem - little tubes") and the existence or non-existence of a "T" connector with those tubes, I'd sure be pleased ...
