Just a quick one.

2017 Tipo 1.4 (95)

My Tipo has a really annoying sound when driving, it basically a tap which sounds the same as when you’ve got a cracked/leaky manifold, just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if it’s normal for this engine?

Obviously it’s hard to explain but for instance, when I’m driving along a road that has hedges on both sides, it’s really noticeable, normal roads, not so much but I can hear it because I’m listening for it.

I’ve had a good look over the full exhaust and didn’t find any problems but it’s starting to become really annoying.

I must admit, I’m starting to get a bit worried that it’s been ran dry of oil at some point by the previous owner

Cheers.

Previously run dry of oil!!
If it was driven for any distance at all or for more than say a minute or too with the oil light on then noise is likely from
Mechanical damage.

If the oil light wasn't on but no oil visable on dipstick that's bad but not as bad as the above. As the car still had some oil pressure and so circulating oil.

Unless you know the previous owner I guess we will never know.

What are total miles on car?
