Hi there fellow Tipo fans.

So, after lots of searching I’ve finally managed to find myself a Tipo.

The good thing is, it’s well within budget, only done 19k Miles with 1 owner and in one of the 2 colours I really wanted (Grey), the bad thing is, it’s an EASY model.

Now, it’s not all bad as it’s had the optional pack added from new with the speed limiter and leather steering wheel/gear knob, BUT I would have liked the LED day running lights and at least the 5” touchscreen radio, not fussed about fog lights as I don’t use them anyway.

I know it’s probably easier to hold out for an Easy Plus but like I said, it’s well within budget and a lovely genuine little car so I’m just wondering if they can be added at a later date?

From what I can see, the wiring for the stereo looks the same across all models, but I’d imagine they are programmed to each individual car (’cancheck’ if I remember right), if this is the case, can it be disabled?

Thanks in advance :)(y)

It’s a 17 plate but being the base spec ‘Easy’ it doesn’t have the LED lights, they’re on the next model up which is the ‘Easy Plus’

I have 2019 with the basic radio (not the floating touchscreen, not even bluetooth music, just handsfree) and halogen headlights.
Within a week I replaced the radio with made for tipo 7" android unit shipped from germany (4G/64G ~240€).
Needed to change the model within the headunit to stop the odometer from flashing so it works with canbus (wont show radiostation on dash but who cares).

On clubtipo.es they have swapped halogen units to LED. Connector is different and resistors need to be added for the bulb warning to go out.

Thanks for the info!

Seeing as the connectors are different I’ll not even bother to mess with them, I was hoping it was a plug and play upgrade but I can live without them. With regards to the radio, I’d like the touch screen one found on the easy plus but once again, can live without it, just looks a lot nicer imo.

Android unit is an option though I’m not sure I’d want to risk putting one in as they’re not exactly the best quality, I may just go down the route of a Bluetooth aux adapter which is only a couple of quid.

How do you find the car in general? I did consider going for a T-Jet but was put off after thinking about it as it’s just more to go wrong, the 1.4’s are a pretty basic engine so I’d like to think other than basic maintenance it shouldn’t give to much trouble.

I got the t-jet, not much that can go wrong with it as it does not have the same gearbox as bravo had. It is an old engine.

Software is not too refined on it, some cosmetic faults on the dash fw and I've once got the cruise to hop 2kmh steps from the steeringwheel until I re-enabled it.

As for ergonomics, I have a HLX Marea and I find it better. In tipo wagon you cant really see behind so I got cameras coming for it.
