Anybody else not have start stop on there car?
And I don't mean that it doesn't work my car physicaly didn't have it
no button to disable it
no intelligent battery sensor fitted
And MES doesn't show anything related to in on the computer any values related to it are blank e.g battery charge % start stop status

My 2019 1.4T Lounge is in for warranty repairs and I have been given same model same year courtesy car but with the smaller non turbo engine. This has no stop/start fitted and also has rear drums instead of rear discs. Oh and it must have a different gearbox as reverse is in a different place...down by 6 gear instead of up left next to first. No idea why they changed it.

Mines a 2017 lounge with the standard 1.4 not the tjet
It's got rear discs and the same gearbox with reverse by 6
Probably this gearbox is fitted to all standard 1.4 and the other type to the tjet engines

Just dug out the Tipo sales brochure that I downloaded from SG Petch a while back (link).

At the bottom of page 29 it says:

All engine versions comply with Euro 6 standards and most of them come with Start&Stop as structural*, providing outstanding performance and fuel consumption with low CO2 emissions.

*Start&Stop is structural on all engines except on the 1.4 95 hp and 1.6 E-Torq 110hp Automatic engines.

That would explain it seems a bit odd to not have start stop on those engines however

Presume the bean counters made some cost-benefit analysis and decided "no" for those engines. Would be interesting to know what the precise reasoning was though.

Yeah especially considering the Extra and wiring will be a few £ and means that can quote lower emmisions level's
At least I don't need to worry about getting a new battery every few years

I don't think they bothered with Start/Stop on some other vehicles fitted with the 1.4 16v 95bhp engine. The best place to check would probably be the 500L as they sold a fair few of them with this engine. I know the 1.6 e-Torq only had Start/Stop as an option on the 500x and Jeep Renegade when I last looked. It's not something I'd miss to be honest. I've got the 1.4 T-Jet, which I really like, but my Start/Stop has been switched off since I picked the car up. I'm more wary about the extra wear on the starter motor, battery and especially the turbo. The latter particularly when it cuts the engine just after a fast run - I always let it idle for 1-2 minutes before switching off the engine if I've been on a long journey or just slowed down from a faster (50mph+) run, to let the turbo cool down.

I had a 1.4 16v 95bhp Easy model a while back when my old Giulietta was in for warranty repairs and never noticed when I picked up my T-Jet that the gearbox is different. My gearbox is a bit obstructive going from fourth to fifth if I try to rush it, which isn't something I noticed in the 95bhp one, though I only had that for a couple of days.
