Hi,

About month ago i got my new Fiat Tipo SW. So after driving it on daily basis, I'm on 4500km now and ready to share my opinion or answer any questions you might have :)

Model: Fiat Tipo Station Wagon 1.6 Multijet (diesel) 16v - Lounge, colour:White

Before I was occasionally driving Ford S-Max 1.6 Ecoboost - usually on longer drives, since my wife used it on daily basis.

First feel with Tipo was less prestige (that was expected since S-max is totally different price range) and steering is better with S-max; Tipo has little more space on steering wheel, therefore steering feels more responsive with S-max. That being said, to my surprise overall driving experience is more pleasing with Tipo and it started to get under my skin (in positive way) very quickly.I think this is because steering wheel feels better under my hands (it's better shaped) + control buttons layout (details) is also better to me. Also driver seat is more comfortable and it feels better on body when going/driving to corner + i guess I just feel better when driving diesel (btw: it's my first diesel).

*Most used functions: ecodrive, navigation, adaptive cruise control.
*Diesel usage: 5,9 - 6.0L / 100km. My ecodrive score is currently 86, but usually is around 82. My daily run is interurban ride ( Slovenia: Domžale <-> Ljubljana) and I'm getting this usage with very reserved driving - keeping to slow lane, slow acceleration, trying to foresee the traffic in front, basically just easy and calm driving :).
*Functionality, button positions etc. is great and easy to reach & use.

Long story short: for now I'm very pleased with this car and i really enjoy driving it. It's kind of already grew to the heart

I test drove the 1.4 petrol Tipo Lounge station wagon and I was pleased with it. So I ordered one in Elba blue and waiting for it to arrive. I will be starting a thread when it arrives and will do full updates every 1000 miles. There will be updates in between if something good or bad happens. I will tell it like it is, warts an' all.

It’s about one year around … just wanted to say; still feel good about buying this car, no regrets so far.

I’m on 17500km (10500mi), my average diesel usage is 6,2L/ 100km (2,6gal/100mi) more or less going with the traffic. I would say it’s little higher on winter days and little lower after it gets warmer

There are few things that I would like to comment on:

 • ACC (adaptive cruise control). When driving, if car in front (that is not in ACC range) turns off road, sometimes ACC starts to break even if the car is not on the road anymore. So in that case I want to put the leg on the gas, since this will override ACC setting. I guess it detects that vehicle in front has rapidly decreased speed and for some reason it breaks even if the car in front wasn’t in ACC range. It doesn’t do that on highway, since when cars change the lane, speed is about the same. I would like to point out that this is not activated Full Break Control (crash prevent system) – I’m sure about that because I have sound&visual warning enabled for crash prevent system and it has never ever activated in this scenario. * What I like about ACC is that you can change gear and it won’t be turned off. It turns off if you break or if you hit canc button on steering wheel and override if gas is pressed.
 • STOP/START system: car goes off right about when the light goes green or right when i'm about to move forward. I have read that this is not the case with other car brands and it's something Fiat needs to work on.
 • There is no visual message on screen if/when the hill holder system is active
 • Uconnect system/display isn’t the fastest. I has about 0,5s lag to it.
 • Rain detection system isn’t as precise as it was with previous car (Ford S-Max) but it works fine about 99% of the time
 • Automatic light system doesn’t turn the lights on when raining. With Ford S-Max this was automatic and I think this was I good thing
 • Sound in the cabin is louder than with S- max

So I guess some of this remarks came from driving Ford S-max for 7 years and I hope this doesn’t sound like unnecessary bashing, it really isn’t meant that way. See it more like those little things, that I as a driver noticed but has also been able to get used to it fairly quickly. Also considering that similar cars probably starts around 4000€-5000€ higher price range, correct me if I’m wrong. As I said I have no regrets about buying this car :)
