tipo floor mats ?

do all new tipos come with those rubbish looking front floor mats ?

they do the job I guess, but when a dealer is claiming "they have put mats in for me for problems I had during the ordering process" only to discover that no, actually they are standard fit mats ... slings a little. :/

are these a Fiat provided thing or a dealer specific thing ? just wondering whether to kick off and demand something more, or just forget about it and get some of those proper TIPO branded fitted mat sets?

Re: tipo floor mats ?

You might need to put a picture up to show what you mean, a cheap set of rubber mats are ugly and cost the dealer nothing but carpet mats tailored with a tipo logo on them are usually much more costly and give a more luxurious feel to any car, both would be original fiat accessories, some after market but 'tipo' branded sets might look good but be cheap, not last and not fit properly.

Previous genuine fiat mats I've bought had lasted a good 3+ years and fitted perfectly

Re: tipo floor mats ?

It's a set of front only none branded mats, they in themselves look ok... Quite thick with a rubber heel protector insert, but when i first saw em i assumed they were generic non brand mats, not really what i meant when i asked for a set of mats, previously the dealer in question has given me the branded tailored set for the car in question.. I've now purchased and fitted the proper tipo set with very subtle almost 2 tone lettering.. but i discovered when trying to buy these that other tipos come with the same front non branded mats i had in mine. Trying to figure out if this is another one of the car dealers lies ?

Re: tipo floor mats ?

A lot of the Tipo's for sale on AutoTrader have non-branded generic looking mats with a large rubber section where your feet are likely to be most of the time.

If yours came with these then they appear to be the correct ones, but whether Fiat supply them from the factory or not, I'm not sure. I would lean towards saying they probably do, otherwise there wouldn't be so many Tipo's for sale with them already fitted (I can't imagine many dealers bothering to fit mats to pre-reg cars if they're not already present from the factory).

Re: tipo floor mats ?

I got Fiat Tipo branded mats with the car, supplied by the dealer as part of their "delivery package". You have to take the mats out of the car before you can see the lettering, it is that subtle. They are also quite thin and we have an allotment, so very muddy shoes go in and out of the car.

I decide to get fitted rubber mats. First set I bought here, from "firststopwholesale";

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-TIPO-2016-ON-FULLY-TAILORED-3MM-RUBBER-HEAVY-DUTY-CAR-FLOOR-MATS/362522315970?fits=Car+Make%3AFiat%7CModel%3ATipo&h ash=item5468038cc2:g:8g8AAOSw5i5cKh0n

They had to be returned because one of the rear mats had been cut the wrong way round, so it only fitted upside down. I got a refund and bought this set from "mycarmats-uk";

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-Tipo-2016-To-Present-New-Fully-Tailored-Car-Floor-Mats-Heavy-Duty-Rubber/173867666479?fits=Car+Make%3AFiat%7CModel%3ATipo&h ash=item287b520c2f:g:YZoAAOSwPGNcrGc9

They do fit, except the fixings on the mat are too small to go over the Fiat fixing. I just removed the fixings and they fit fine. The rubber is very thick and still needs pushing over the Fiat fixing, so it will not move about.

Re: tipo floor mats ?

I have had the same issue as my car only came with front mats which I thought was slightly penny pinching. I tried the genuine Tipo floor mats but was not impressed with them either. It seems Fiat do not make rubber mats for the Tipo in Right hand drive. The tailored mats I went for in the end are ok but do not look as good but the rubber is fairly thick. I did look into weathertech ones but they are £207! And they were out of stock of right hand drive Tipo ones as well.

Re: tipo floor mats ?

I brought a set of cheap rubber mats and cut to fit mainly for the drivers side as Ive managed to wear out two material ones in just over two years😕
