It's the 1.6 diesel that FIAT have been using for ages. First saw the light of day in the Bravo (at least I think so anyway...) in both 105bhp "Eco" guise and 120bhp forms.


Same basic engine, presumably with some updates for emissions etc' it is widely available in FCA cars today including Giulietta, Renegade, 500X, 500L and so on.


I have the 105bhp version in my 500L; not wildly exciting and quite noisy on start-up but there's decent torque and excellent economy to make up for it.


120bhp should be plenty in a Tipo in everyday use but I'm sure there must be ways to extract more.
