Has anyone else bought Zemex V1 or Xcarlink v1 on Fiat Croma ?
I did bought and it is not working proberly.
I wonder, where could be the problem. There is just one Blue Blaupunkt connector to connect back of my cd player
It says 90% "no source available". Sometimes it works, but not working as it should.

Do i need to "activate" cd changer mode somehow on Fiat dealershop?

My model is Fiat CD 194 7 645 342 316

Hi, Salmmi. I fitted this Xcarlink device to my Croma: http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=51&cat=0&page=1

It works fine. I did have to re-set my iPod and switch off the stereo completely off, before restarting the system, starting with the iPod.

The stereo selected the Xcarlink as the "Changer" as source 1. The display showed "Magazine Scan" for a few minutes, while it read all the playlists.

Try starting from scratch - 1. switch off stereo and disconnect XCarlink for 30 seconds (?). 2. Switch on stereo without the Xcarlink connected and let it find a radio station. 3. Switch stereo back off and reconnect blue plug. 4. Connect iPod and re-set (press top of circle and centre button together and hold) 5. When iPod has re-booted switch on stereo.

The above sequence should just re-set the communication between the xcarlink, ipod and stereo.

I send it back, and they sent me replacement. I believe mine was faulty.
Did You remove battery (-) when you installed it first time?

The version I used connects to my iPod, so the order is the iPod default ordering. The XCarLink picks up the playlists as individual CD's, except for CD1, which is the mode which lets you retain control of the iPod. There is also a socket which is simply a 3.5mm jack plug which lets you just connect any MP3 player/Satnav. This will not accept a USB stick, as it requires the attached device to output the sound directly.

Now i have xcarlink 2 (same model but with usb)
Problem continues... no source available. No flashing on usb stick...

Do You have the same radio :Fiat CD 194 7 645 342 316 ???

Hi

I'm not sure of the model number, I just checked the compatibility photo grid on the XCARLINK website. The link I provided before can be used to get to this. My radio is the same as the middle one on the bottom row.

I have exactly the same Blaupunkt model. Model number is easy to check from the side of the unit.
Did you need the change some wiring on "Blue Mini ISO)?

My Croma manual says that it supports Fiat Lineaccesori 5 cd-changer.

Cromachris: Before installation, did you remove both battery connections?

A bit silly, I know, but I didn't disconnect at all! I just made sure that everything was off before I started. I just pulled the radio out using the keys, removed the blue "dummy" plug and replaced with the xcarlink one. I then switched the radio on and it found the unit straight away.

I have been having a think about your problem: What format is the memory stick formatted to? FAT32 or NTFS? Some readers etc don't like NTFS, even though it is the newer of the 2 standards. It might be worth trying to format the stick in the oposite format to that which it is in now.

I have tried both Fat 16 and Fat32. They should work. I would really appreciate if you could check your radio model number...and is your car 2006 model (not facelift)..mine is 2006.

I know nothing about radio installation, but have found that some memory cards work in some other installations only when formatted using the Hewlett Packard downloadable formatter. (fat32)

I tried that. No change.

Have you tried NTFS?
I will check the model of my radio in the morning. My Croma is an '06 plate vehicle and has the standard 6-speaker set-up (not the optional-on-Eleganza, standard-on-Prestigio 8.1 arrangment).

Have you also tried putting some files in the root directory (ie not in a folder) of the memory stick?
