Thought I may as well start a new thread, Instead of Hijacking Sammiboo's Pics thread.
What are viscosity/brand is everyone using? Do you go for the 15w - 40 like most coop nuts OR do you use something a little thinner? Im currently using Miller's 5w 40 I think, It may be 5w 50 though.
Anyone had an engine go after changing viscosities? Interesting to hear from you.

Mobil 1 0W40 tends to be a little thin for most coop's as it leaks past the turbo oil seals (especially on de-catted cars). There is a massive debate on what is the best oil on the coop forum. I use Castrol RS 10W60 as it gives good cold start protection and very good hot protection (my coop is heavily modded)

Was speaking to the tutor today (Have started a course on Motor vehicle maint/repairs) He was telling me that he remembers single viscosity oils!!
Like as in "40" It was this viscosity whether thick or thin!! You were supposed to change for something thinner for summer like "30"
God How engine's (and oil) has progressed!!!
