Hi, I have a '59 plate 500 & the yellow warning triangle came on yesterday - It told me to change a 'running light' which turned out to be a rear side light bulb. I have changed the bulb but the triangle has still not gone away!? Does the bulb have to be the same (10w) as the old!? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

If my Croma 2005 bulb failure detection system is anything to go by then you will need to 'cycle' the lights on/off a couple of times. I think the system does this to rule out intermittent connections and to ensure it has a 100% positive working light before clearing the fault down.

Also, yes you should ideally fit the same wattage bulb otherwise it may not be recognised/registered.

The Same wattage bulb MUST be used

The system is looking for a current draw

If the system isn't seeing the right draw - it'll put the error message up saying there is a fault

the Mk2 punto had this system and its in alot of fiats now :)

The rear sidelights were 10w bulbs, alot of idiots fitted 5w, and wondered why the car was complaining of a fault still

Well that's clearer that up!!

Thanks for both of your help!! :)
