i was always told my 1.2 16v wasnt FIRE. oh well...

anyway, the fiat people said his box blowing was a mixture between 17" wheels and over enthusiastic driving.. and i beleive them, ive seen him drive :rolleyes:

but either way, this thread isnt about that :p

and you have just cursed yourself by acknowledging the fact you've yet to have a slip up, i hope you touched wood! ;)

i agree with 'fiat people' 17" + young lad = dead gearbox
the big wheels lenghten the final gear ratio, greatly increasing the forces acting on the differential and gearbox internals.
 
surely if the rolling circumference of the wheels are the same as standard it shouldnt make any difference??


well if it does im up sheep creek without a paddle on 18's... :(
I was on 195X65X15 alloys and now on 225X40x18 alloys

yeah, the rolling radius is the same cos of the low pro's

they're just wider, not really heavier either :confused:
