Can anyone advise how to get at the heater control bulbs? I’ve looked online but can’t find any relevant information, I’ve had the radio out but I don’t see any alternative to dismantling the dash. Help!

Hi simonm

I don't know if you can somehow reach round from behind, having taken out the radio. If not, from what I can glean from elearn, there is a fair bit of dismantling.

Assuming no passenger airbag, this is what I take to be the sequence:

Upper document holder (on top centre of dash) 2 bolts
Small cubbyhole above radio Held with some sort of clip, release then pull out

Centre air vent Prise clips with knife
Switch unit (long strip with hazard switch etc) One screw under rubber trim disc in cupholder, then pry out clips round edge

Centre trim frame (surround) 2 screws near top, then lift up
Climate control panel (rotary knobs etc) 2 upper and 2 lower screws.

I hate prying out trim, as the tabs love to break off and it's easy to scratch things even with plastic tools. It's up to you to decide if it's all worthwhile !

It is what I was expecting and as it’s only really an aesthetic issue and not a security issue, I think I’ll leave well alone for now. It’s not as if the dials are in total darkness.
