I have a 2007 Ducato X250-based motorhome with remote locking.
If I lock the cab doors then manually open them from the inside, then there is no alarm.
The problem is that I cannot tell if the vehicle has no alarm fitted or whether it has and it is faulty. The warrentee runs out in two months so I would like to know.
Anybody know how I can tell?

Regarding the red light in the centre of the dashboard central locking switch...

If I lock the cab using the switch on the dashboard then the light stays on continuously. I can open the doors from the inside; no alarm sounds.

If I lock the cab using the remote then the light is continuous for five seconds then flashes (deterrence function) until I unlock. I can open the doors from the inside; no alarm sounds. This also happens if I press the remote locking twice to deadlock the doors; so obviously the deadlocking isn't happening

My car won't deadlock if I press the button twice too quickly. When I deadlock I press once, then give it a good second (1 Mississippi) before pressing it again then it tends to work ;)

Depends upon the vehicle, our Stilo requires double click to dead lock the same speed as a double click on a computer mouse ;)

I now have the word from Swift that the Ducatto cabs they use are specified without alarm or deadlocking.
Its a bit confusing cos the handbook tells you about using both but neglects to tell you how you can tell if you have them.
