Hi
Although i have been advised I have the correct replacement cable I would appreciate confirmation from more experienced people than me.

Attached is the page from Haynes manual which is the exact set up I have on Sporting 1.1 March 1997 model.

Also attached is a picture of replacement cable received.

I dont see how to fit adjustner nut and lock nut and it doesnt look big enough to fit around the pulley?

Is the new cable just a new design that doesnt have any adjusment and I just have to stretch it to make it fit around pulley?

Many thanks

Your cable is the Sei type, also used on late Cinq.
Your instructions are for the Cinq type.

The change over was in October 1997, so you need the early type (as in your instructions).

You have the wrong cable.
