Technical Won't start

1.3 multi -jet

Stalled when driving at low revs, won't start, sounds like it's turning over but has no life...
The fuel cut off switch is activated, I came close to running out of diesel, so put some in it, I personally that the fuel pump might be blocked but a garage said it could be the timing chain but there was no loud noises, it just stalled..
Does anyone know what it could be?

Sorry I'm not the best with cars can you explain more

Idealy you wouid be best having the car plugged in for Diagnostics,
if you have RAC or greenflag etc, these chaps have this diag stuff in van,

how did Mechanic come to conclusion it may be timing chain,?


Fuel cut off switch ?
do you mean inertia switch
has this been reset?

The cranksensor sugestion is just a shot in the dark,
normaly if these fail car will just cut out randomly or be a pain to start,

Ok thanks I'll give RAC a call , the mechanic said it had bad compershon on 2 and 4 he much of tested it with some thing I'm not sure what tho , there was a switch in the driver's foot well and it had been set off , Thakm you for your input

Good luck mate,

dont tell rac man that mechanic as had a look,
also try and get any fault codes if any off the rac man
