Technical won't Idle (1.2 8V)

I have recently replaced the inlet manifold and did the plugs and leads whilst I was at it. (all genuine bits). Started the car today and it was very 'lumpy' until I gave it some revs. When revved it sounds ok, all 4 cylinders firing, but as soon as I try and let the engine idle it dies. Engine was running ok until the manifold was swapped. Any clues? Have I left off some obscure component?

Well that was bizarre! Went back to the car to drive it into the garage again,,,, it started without revs and idled like a beach b*m. Running fine. What was all that about? I thought my Alfa was quirky!

you probably had an air pocket in the water system by the coolent temperature sensor
this would cause overfuelling and in fiat talk bogging down, but obviously as you rev it higher this unburnt fuel is being used up
just keep your eye on water level and it might need a little bleed later in the week
