Wonky Steering Wheel

My steering wheel is ever so slightly off-centre when driving straight, does this mean the wheels almost certaintly need re-tracking? Or does it matter too much?

if it drives in a straight line its okay, just means you have a slightly out of place wheel, if it veers to the side get the tracking done, its only £20 and most places do a free check anyway

ah yes thanks, I remember now my local chemix do free tests. It seems to drive alright, just concerned about premature tyre wear.

where is the premature tyre wear?

There's none at the mo as the tyres are fairly new, but I'm just concerned that if I'm driving with wheels slightly out then they might wear in on the sides or something weird.

No harm in checking tracking.

But If it drives ok then I would guess that maybe the wheel has been off at some time and put on one tooth to one side.

Perhaps an aftermarket wheel added and removed by a previous owner?
