wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram or pictures of what goes where. Just trying to make sure i have everything prepared for when engine eventually goes in.. if not i shall be on the phone to vanaaken.

Someone shine some light!

MF2 doesn't get wired into ECU, its a stand alone injector driver unit.

It takes a feed from rev counter at back of instrument binacle, it also takes a +ve feed from ignition and a earthed behind instruments.

You then need the 2nd MAP sensor that has three wires that tell the MF2 when +ve boost is achieved, if the MF2 has been used before in this configuration then it will recognise this, if not there is a setting up process detailed in the manual which are available to buy on net somewhere, can't remember where as Alex22 found it when looking for a new loom for one.

The ECU can't see +ve boost, so you need some form of (BCD) Boost Cut Defender, (BDL if Van Aaken own) Boost de-limiter or any other name they make up for it, this wires into the feed to ECU from original MAP sensor.

think that just about covers it on a side note if anyone has taken any picture while theyve done this would be of great help. (y)

am i along the right lines with this?

Ah right ok, yours is one of those odd ones like jamie86 has, there is no MAP sensor but something has been added to the MF2 to read boost, see the vacuum pipe gojng into it, unless your MF2 is just sitting on top of something that looks like vacuum pipe.

The two wires with question mark are from the BDL (boost de-limiter) little black box you can see to right of MF2, these need to be spliced into the MAP sensor to stop the ECU seeing +ve boost, its the yellow and red stripey wire, IIRC its yellow ECU green MAP sensor there shoudl also be a black -ve and red +ve from the BDL that need connected this is same product by dif company by has wiring on front which is nice http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/VFCC-00100006.asp

yeah the red +ve and yellow rev counter look correct should also be a -ve

Can i ask is that a new boost piep with dump valve take off, if so where did you get it made and how much?

yup thats a vacuum pipe coming off of the mf2, not a new boost pipe, one i got with the kit. Had a stainless steel induction pipe aswell but some pikeys nicked it from work. may have to give you a shout when come round to sorting the wiring out but you've covered quite allot. ta ya brainiac (y)

so yellow and green into the map like so and then the black(earth) to a good earthing point, not my wiring by the way! found it on the car that had the engine in before its going into mine..

Yeah that looks right, tho I just cut the one yellow/red stripy wire didn't touch the other 2 wires in the MAP plug as you do not need to.

I then put a metal O conector on the earth lead and then that fixes to one of the bolts that hold the ECU in place as these are earthed, the same as is standard from loom to one of the bottom bolts on ECU.

+ve is a feed from the MF2 IIRC the same one as the injector, which looks like what yours is.

I noted that your loom is not looking brilliant, you can buy a replacement one from here and they sell instruction books as well http://www.turbobits.co.uk/acatalog/erl_aquamist_mf2_injector_controller.html or I did have a spare one which i gave to someone on here but he didn't use it, so i didn't charge him for it, but I may remind him of this and get it back off him if you want one, i would obvisoly sell it for less than the online price.

It may be worth while checking the fuel pressure available at the throttle body as on normal Fiat ones the adjuster is sealed in blue wax, but I checked a VAD prepared car today and the adjuster was sealed with yellow stuff, looked like a loctite type stuff and the fuel pressure was 1.35bar, this is above the standard 0.8-1bar tolerance that they are set at by Fiat, so I think VAD adjusted these to suit a turbo conversion.

If you need any more info on this, don't hesitate to ask
