General Wipers

Anyone else find that their wipers are utter crud?
Mine have always been - at the passenger side the blade doesn't fully touch the windscreen when resting, and they are useless at high speed. There's also a patch which seems to refuse to be wiped, they just kinda smear it about LOL
I use Bosch wiper blades with a spoiler (replaced about a month ago), and I have some of those extra spoilers from Fiat attached too. Could these be the cause? The wipers have never been brilliant.

Prolly the wiper arm if the blades arent wiping what they should be. maybe the linkage is abit bent or something?

But yes, generally mine arent amazing.

I don't think they get rain in Italy!!!
My drivers side wiper is set wrongly and hits the bottom of the windscreen each wipe but otherwise they are ok. Another job for my list of things to do....

i use bosch ones and they just smudge the screen.

mine are poo, especially the passenger one, but the arm is bent because the bonnet popped up at 60mph so smashed into screen and bending wiper arm.

I have tried bending it back but it still aint perfect, just play around with the arm until your happy with it

That happens to me when they are going at full speed in heavy rain (usually when on motorway).

The linkage catches the bulkhead under the windscreen. Another classic Fiat design.

Mine are dire too. Tried bending the arms, fitting Bosch/spoiler jobbies, everything, came to the conclusion that if it really mattered, I'd just have to get a new car [!]

mine are good! still got the original ones 3 years on!...

whats most facinating to non cento drivers is the speed of them! they swipe the screen so quick! faster than zorro on a good day

I use MM blades. They are ace. I have a patch too which just doesn't get clean above 30mph. Bottom drivers side corner.

That doesnt ever get clean on mine, even standing still- I get the impression that my Wiper blade is a bit knackered!

my bottom drivers side corner doesn't get washed either lol. I ended up pointing the drivers side washer right onto the spot it usually misses.

I think it does it because the wiper blade hardly moves at all on that corner, if that makes sense?

I feel a 1242 turbo coming on...

The only time they actually clean the screen is if you have them wiping for a few minutes when its rained or if I've just cleaned the car (very rare!)

I agree with all, the wipers are sh*t! I'm getting some new wipers this week because the ones I have on are falling apart. That patch on the driver's side was always being missed on my SX and the Sporting doesn't like it some days. I think I'll take the advice and aim the jet right there!
