winxp policy restriction

just got my computer freshly formatted, nice and clean without any crap running on.. it's in the lounge of the new house.. and my brother has been using it, and installed stupid things.

i'm running xp pro sp2, and i know it can restrict user rights and stuff - so how do i prevent everyone bar me being able to install stuff?

just password protect the administrator account,IIRC you cant install on non admin accounts?

Yes, add a new user account for your brother. Set the account type to user (not Power User or Administrator). Ensure you have a password on any Administrator or Power User level accounts.

Have fun in there,
but beware you can seriously screw computers up using it.
Also this only work on xp pro and not home.
In there you can remove access to like control panel and stuff for specified users.

i've just made new user account, set as user, not admin/power user - i will play with the policy editor late to make the account 'better' :devil:
