Wing mirror for Bravo

Some b*****d managed to drive his car into the side of mine although mine was parked on a quiet back street. Result: wing mirror glass completely annihilated! The shell still looks ok though, and the electrics appear to be working.

The local Fiat dealer tells me that I will need a whole new mirror which needs to be sprayed to colour match the car. He has quoted me about £200 for the job.

Anybody have any ideas of where/how I can get it done cheaper?

Did you try looking in a car "grave yard"?
maybe you'll be able to get one from an out of commission Bravo.

Mirror

Go to windowshop and ask them to cut new mirror for you.
Make model of mirrorglass, for example paper.
You can glue the new mirror with silicon.
In Finland this works fine and the prise in very
resonable.About 10 USD.

replace glass

The wing mirror has several individual spare components. Provided that the electrics are OK and the mirror housing is undamaged then all you should require is the glass. Ask Fiat Parts at local dealer, they can get them easily (about 20 pounds). If you have the heated wing mirror make sure that is what is ordered, as they have heating element on rear side. Chip away old glass, new mirror has self adhesive on back to fasten to holder. Easy job.
