The pulley guide at the top of the window regulator needs replacing.
How do you remove the pulley and guide?
I have got a spare pulley, guide an metal insert.
Thanks

I think it rivetted on at the factory, normally the whole window regulator is changed as a unit. I have just fitted a O/S/R one to my daughters Punto Evo, £21 for a cheap pattern one on eBay, though I have thoroughly greased it before fitting.

I was hoping that as a replacement metal piece is in the repair kit it could be replaced easily.
Looks like a search for a pattern one.

May be worth trying to repair the old one if you have the parts, nothing to lose. You can always jam the window shut with a piece of the correct length of wood until repair completed, as I did on my daughters until part arrived.

At the moment the window is held in place with making tape.
I have got a repair kit but unfortunataly the pulley guide is for the drivers side window(mine is the passenger side).

With the panel off, jamming the wood in to hold window up is less attractive to thieves.
Would it be possible to angle grind the head off the rivet that holds the pulley if careful not to get the plastic to hot, the plastic guide part is handed , I expect. Then fit the pulley with suitable size bolt and nylock nut(not to long so it doesn't foul the glass) Ideally a cheap pattern window regulator from eBay or a local Motor parts stockist?

The Doblo is not being driven much so the masking tape is Ok (I might add some wood as well)
Looking on Ebay at people breaking Doblos for quotes.
Have got a spare pulley in the kit .
Been thinking of drilling out the metal ?
Thanks

Have managed to remove the pulley fixing .
Ideas on how to fit the new holder?
Squash it in a vice?
Thanks

If there is enough metal left protruding you may be able to "pein" it over but if not enough metal the pulley will jam. No chance of a nylock nut and bolt as I suggested earlier?

There should be enough metal -in the photo the pulley runs on the fat part so the thin piece to the right protrudes through the runner.
I am waiting for the correct pulley guide before I can test fit a bolt to see if there is enough space.
Still waiting for quotes on second hand window regulators via Ebay .
Thanks

Correct pulley guide arrrived and using my ball pein hammer I have managed to swell/flatten the end of the metal so it is now fitted.
Now I am trying to respool the cables-any tips as I am struggling to get the tension.
Thanks

That may be fun, I see from you first photo the cable has a spring loaded section? Would compressing the spring slacken the load on the cable or maybe do something at the electric motor drive gear end, difficult without being there. Another point try not to twist the cable wire as that could cause the cable to want to jump off the pulleys.

Managed to get the cable spooled and after many failed attempts finally got it back together.
Watched a few utube videos on spooling the cables not just fiats but other makes too get hints.
You have to give the spool a twist to get tension and then flip it into position.
If it fails again I will be getting a replacement unit.
Thanks for the help.

Glad you managed it, thanks for letting me know how you got on. Years ago I worked on Lada cars, they used spools and pulleys fixed to the door panels and were always failing.
