Wierd buzzing sound from behind headlight

I've got a really loud buzzing noise like an electric motor coming from behind my drivers side headlight whenever the main headlights are on.
I'm guessing it's the height adjustment motor, cos it's tone changes whenever I change the setting. Has anyone else had this? Does it mean the motor's shagged, or is it fixable?
Any help appreciated, it's getting on my nerves! (I guess I could just unplug the lead, but that's not really fixing it!)

anyone? I know it's not a common fault, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the shitty repair manual I've got (It's that one that covers about 8 cars in the one book! What a **** idea!)
