I went to the scrapyard today to find a new bumper (wich I didn't found) but on my search for some cinquecento's I found 4 Punto60's (3 x MK1 / 1 x MK@) with fully intact motors.

So now my question is what can i use to spice up my cinquecento?

What kinda tools do I need to remove the trottle body? Does any body got pictures of removing it or just pictures of the thing when out of the engine so I can see I have it al with me when I'm going to get it.

One of theh cinq owners will reply soon :) Basically it's a very slightly oversized TB, it's a direct swap, dead easy, some are even considering sending their TB off to be re-engineered in another country.

its easy to do. All you need is to remove the air box which i believe is a 13mm socket and then a 5mm allen key to remove the actual TB. Make sure you take the black spacer aswell.

All you will need for the TB is a 5mm allen key, a sharp knife for all the hoses, a 13mm spanner, for the acc cable bolt, 13mm socket for the top of the aibox and a pair of wire cutters to snip the acc cable. Dont waste time taking the hoses off, just cut them all, its not ur engine. :p And remeber the spacer underneath. (y)

Watch out for the petrol that goes everywhere but fine if you cut the hoses slowly. ;)

I wrecked 2 engines the other day.

From what I gather on other posts it's not so much an increase but more that the flat spots are removed therefore giving a much better and smother pull throughout the rev range. :)

There will be some increase going from a 30mm TB to a 32mm TB but not a huge one, couple of bhp probably due to the better breathing for the engine. Very worthwhile tho. (y)

let us know if you get a punto 60 throttle body, and how much it costs? im tempted to get one for my sei sporting but dont really know much about getting them and fitting them

Hi everyone

Making a swap to the Punto 60 TB is an okay solution – gives a little extra power but not very much.

In another conversation on this forum >> http://fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=23055 << we have talked about what you can make out of a TB to the Cinq. and Sei.

I have made some experience here in Denmark with different solutions regarding to the original 30mm TB and this I the best result I have managed until now.

The solution is an original 30mm TB drilled out to 40mm witch matches the hole in the inlet manifold.

The swap from 30mm to 40mm have bin measured to +6.2 Hp and +8 Nm which is the same as a sports exhaust manifold, a 268 C&B cam or an performance chip can give you – the price is just cheaper

I make these oversized TB’s here in Denmark to the fellows in the Danish Fiat Club (FKD) and if you like I can make it for you to…?

The member “J33EVO” from your club has already sent me 2 TB to be enlarged and I expect them to get here by mail tomorrow. If they’ll get here tomorrow they’ll be on their way home to England Friday and he will have the TB’s back home on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The price for getting a TB done is 120 euro + post charge and it will take about 1½ week in all from sending to receiving…

Here’s a pic. of the enlarged TB I refer to. Be aware that the little plate in the middle of the TB is the original 32mm from the Punto 60.

This works! - and it’s just as easy to fit as the original 32mm TB. I make a new spacer-kit to place under the enlarged TB.

This is a big success I Denmark and if you are interested in getting this done just send me a private message or a mail and I will answer as soon as possible.

I'm getting it done by a place called Auto Sprint Design who are based near Birmingham. They advertise in the back of Retro Cars mag along with another company who specialise in heads. If i remember rightly its about £360 for the work which includes all porting n polishing including cutting 3 angle valve seats and reshimming the cam shaft so all sits within smaller tolerances than they would be from factory. Of course if your not removing the head yourself you would need to factor in costs to remove and replace your head with new head gasket, exhaust, inlet gaskets although a FIAT set ones only work out about £30 although I bought an uprated Speeso gasket which is about £40.

A decent head should easily give about a 10% increase in bhp/torque and make the car rev a lot smother.

You can go more wild (and spend more money) than I did and get bigger inlet & exhaust valves put in for an even bigger effect, but as my car is turbo'd and after speaking to the guy this would not really be needed for my requirements.

Apparently theres not that much scope for, or more to the point, need for bigger valves in the 1108 \ 1242cc engines!
