Technical Why will my bonnet not stay down!

Hello All.

My bonnet will not stay down after some one (Im guessing) reversed into me as i came back to find my headlight at a funny angle, so i checked and all the mounts were smashed :bang:.

So new headlight later, what an effort to fit that! The bonnet stil rises up about 2 inches which is a bit anooying and doesnt look great .

Any suggestions/fixes as everything looks fine although it cant be

could be catch has moved or bonnet and/or slam panel is bent, best pop into a body shop get them to have a quick look, driving with it like that can cause bonnet to fly up smash windscreen and dent roof

when i crashed my punto into a house the boot wouldnt close for me either, turned out to be the catch and had it replaced now it all works.

Thanks Dave and Medds. It still stays locked in the bonnet catch, u cant pull it up any further so im hoping it isnt that serious!

yeah mine would close so it was closed but like still an inch off of closing, never properly clicked i doubt itll fly up though mate, just look a bit naff

this could be seriously dangerous if the bonnet flys up while driving, you would loose most of your forward vision! renault did a recall of a clio model a couple of years ago because of faulty catches because they are so dangerous. as a temp fix you can put a piece of rope around the whole front of the car to make sure it cant fly up.
