I have noticed (not like its hidden) that most of you, if not all have named your vehicles.

I have been wondering why you all have named them that particular name, and was also wondering what my vehicle would be named if i wanted to.
(I should really get updated photos) still using the sale photos, which in my opinion are kinda misleading. In real life there is a dent in all panels appart from the roof and boot lid and some dents appear to be the same size and place in both sides of the car.. Strange.

I also wanted to make this topic because some time ago I made a Seat Marbella model - I realise it is a little too wide but only fanatics would take notice of that. I made it for a game called Mafia and comes in three colours - Turquiose, White and Red. (The wheels show proper elevation in the game)

Heres a video also:
[ame="http://www.xfire.com/video/15ce02/"]Mafia - Zmodeler cars made from scratch by me! - Xfire Video[/ame]

It show's a Reliant Regal Van which i also made after the Marbella. What you all think? Took me some months.

Majority of the panda's we have had have had names, All 3 black ones were called Manda as a elderly woman I worked with gave our first black one the name. She later went on to buy her so when we replaced it with another black one the name was already there. Our latest is called Poppi and thats because she is red and also that she is a early model with a carb so when you remove your foot off the gas pedal and she is coasting she makes a slight popping noise from the exhaust.

In fact all 3 cars we own have names, There is Poppi the panda, Courgie the Chevette and The toadster (John's baby) The smart roadster.

Courgie Came with her name when we bought her off of a friend and she got that name when she broke down on the motorway and the RAC guy asked her what model of Vauxhall it was and she came out with a Vauxhall courgette. So the name stuck with her. Think the man on the phone was thinking of sending the men in white coats as well as a recovery truck.

Love the game by the way. (y)

I'm embarassed to say my Sisley is called Piglet:eek: There is a reason though! A previous Land Rover I had was registration **** EOR so got called Eeyore, following that precedent my next Landy became Tigger so when the little 4x4 came along it had to be called Piglet didn't it?

" bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy - Tiggers are wonderful things!"

Except when a wheel bearing seizes up on the way home locking you up solid across someones drive and Piglets starter motor packed up the day before:bang:

oh no!! You killed 3!!:eek::confused::cry:

:ROFLMAO: Our first Manda that we got nearly 5 years ago is still on the road and loved by her new owner. Manda 2 is in the scrap yard in the sky but lives on in a few Panda's on the forum (doors, ecu etc)

Manda 3 with bull bars lives on in essex and is now owned by an itailian who lavishes her.

Cukoo the Parade lives on,whizzing round Beckenham and S London. We believe our N reg Colour is also on the road still

Oh yes, with the Selecta specific parts in Sunny Suffolk, God I still don't plan on returning to that scrappy for a while. The chap might remember ours faces, I think he thought he was ripping us off with the prices he was quoting, only to find out that once we'd left we'd ripped them off

Don't tend to give my cars names, though I am enjoying reading about how some of yours got thiers.
There are people I'm fond of, and cars I'm fond of, but naming my cars blurs the boundaries a little too much for me ;).

Having said that, I have got a name for the 750 I just aquired for my Daughter. My Duaghters name is Charmain, the car is a 750 Mania, so it seems logical to call it Charmania from now on, hope she agrees :).

Thought you were on about Manda's cars  :p

Manda's post re: scrapped Pandas appears after the "You killed three!" comment, and anyway, only one of those appears to be 'dead'

Bobby is called Bobby because he is an ex-Police car (undercover) No really, it's true!
Blackie is now called Blackie because, er,... he's black! Black wheels, blacked out windows, black seat covers...

The van and the Focus have names, as did my Escort and my three previous 2CVs; they all came from different scenarios - a piece of paper found inside, a remark from a friend, a comment on the colour... Neither the 126 nor the Cortina had a name (tho I called it a few things in its short life with me!)

1) All good answers, It seems that the only ones who have names for their car are the ones who post 24/7 ;) And mostly by previous owners.

2) No it is not my job. Just a hobbie.

3) It may be a Marbella. But its what all you wan, a MK1 Panda :p

:D
