Just curious, what's the reason that you buy your Fiat ? and how do you think it's better than it's competitors ? (you don't need to name brand) :)

I'm a fan of Italian design and engineering, Italians have/had this knack of creating facinating and technologically advanced machines with soul. My background was in Lancias and Alfa Romeos but about 15 yrs ago I understood that all italian cars stem from this same pool of culture and talent. As for Fiat especially, I appreciate the real world value and the lack of pretend, Fiats are Fiats.

The styling of the fiats is much nicer than most other cars.
they are relatively cheap to buy,and having italian engines you get a little bit more performance.I have a 12 year old punto and it has NEVER let me down.
All i have put into it was a set of shocks,a battery, and new clutch last year, thats it for 12 years!
passed mot 3 months ago!:slayer:

i mainly bought my stilo as it was £3000 for a 10k miles car which fitted what i needed from it, its economical its cheap to run, and the main point as is is that shape of a box, i can fit a lot of boxy type stuff in it.

as for better than competitors it is lightyears ahead of the rover i had and i would say better than a focus (apart from cornering ability)

I've had 3 Alfa's, 1 Lancia and 4 Fiats. My reason for buying Italian is that the engines are strong, they tended to be idiosyncratic in the past, they have good specs, nice design and residual values for someone buying used make them good value for money. The other great thing is that they are actually better screwed together than people give them credit for and more exclusive than the German brands. As I'm not a sheep, that suits me.

Fiat I decided was a good choice for a few reasons 1: I wanted a First car which isn't your typical boy racer image car like a Corsa.

2: Cheap to insure

3: Impressive on the High Rev Output of a Fiat Punto

4: Fiat and Ferrari have close ties

and finally

5: Because Everyone told me not to get a Fiat

In the case of my Qubo, it was the hands-down winner over the Nemo and Bipper on price and equipment. Better yet, it was the only one with the 95 HP version of the 1.3 JTD.

I've always liked Fiat cars, and so have the familly, we've had 2 cinqs, 1 Tempra, 1 punto mk2 and we now have two grandes :)
they all look brilliant and in my past experiance they are great cars, cheap to insure and perform well :)

Fiat all the way for me. In our family we've had 2 Cinqs, 2 Puntos and we currently have 2 Grande Puntos.

Great cars, stylish, very reliable and not everyones got one!

had fiats since 2001 (brand spanking punto sporting back then) have a marea weekend 20v now, just feel like they have soul, and deliver a driving experience unparrelled by any other car i have have owned, i had a mondeo st in 2009 for 10 months and i hated it, got shot and 3 days after that i was back in a fiat and don't think i will ever change, it was my late nans fault she had a brand new canary yellow fiat back in the late 70's till around 88 (the one that zastiva made after without the boxy rear end cant remeber teh model name) my parents drive fiats i just love them

When I bought my first Fiat, I was looking for a real banger, I basically wanted something that looked like it rolled out of a scrapyard, I also wanted something not overly popular.

I was used to physically larger vehicles, so a dinky little 1.0ltr Uno with no lacquer on the bonnet clicked all the right 'comical' boxes.

That car turned out to be a legend. I actually put it through hell, and it just kept going. Even my mates were shocked, as everyone told us Fiats were naff. From then on my opinion of Fiats were much better.

A few years later I wanted another little banger, so bought a Panda. I was over the moon with the simplicity of everything, no mod-cons, easy to work on, it was perfect.

Now I'm hooked, as is the missus!

For me Fiat comes second only to old Land Rovers...

Had Fords all my life(just turned 50) including a few fast ones. My wife got herself a new 500 sport 2 years ago. Great little car. I was due a change she talked me into test driving a Punto T Jet 120 BHP. I would not have ever considered a FIAT. I came back from the test drive well impressed. done a deal for my ST170 and now own a 3 year old T Jet with 16 k on the clock. You get a lot of car for your money loads of extras as standard & a great looking car. i have been converted and halved my motoring costs.

Looking round for something that was easy to get in & out of (the old civic was a tad too low for me - the old bones were struggling a bit) & most cars seem to lack head/legroom. A mate who is a plasterer uses one of the small french vans to cart his crap around in & I was impressed by the headroom. When I checked out the motor I was given a few choices, a couple of french motors and the fiat doblo. Comparing the motors, the doblo was longer, taller, wider than the competitors so I took one for a test drive & was very pleased. Even with the driver's seat fully back, I was able to get into the back seat without problem.
The rest is history.
And I really don't regret buying it.
It might be a dirty oil burner but the 1.9jtd really can pull some punches when it needs to and looking at the model on here didn't really throw up any major concerns.

Had the Punto T Jet for 3 weeks now. My first FIAT, done 2 long journeys in it and the daily hack to work,Great car nice to see the fuel gague moving slower than my previous cars. As someone mentioned in a previous post. Dont see loads of them on the road, which i think is rather nice. Loved my insurance quote for the next 12 months as well. Cant see me changing this car for a while.

Fiat can perhaps be labeled as the most stunning looking automobile in the lineup of Fiat products till date.Fiat always packed with the many utility features fiat cars is sure to make you driveway of may satisfied and proud owners.

Why Fiat
Had too many issues with French to ever own another.
Won't pay the premium prices charged for VW.
Anything also on my shortlist (Yaris a prime example) also commanding a premium price and would have been two years older for same money.
