Hi folks
I'm just new and rthought Id ask you guys if you can help.
1999 Fiat Marea 1.9 TD100, 95K miles
This car has developed a fault. It drives perfectly smoothly and the engine is very puchy but once in a while at low speed and in low gear it develops a fault whereby the engine becomes lumpy(almost as if it was running off a cylinder) and huge amounts of white smoke bellow from the exhaust.
IT IS A LOT OF SMOKE!!
It will eventually clear itself then go on without a problem.
The fuel tank and pipes etc. have been cleaned as someone suggested it might be a dirt problem but this has not cured the problem at all.
The car has been faithfully serviced and maintained to date with no regard for the cost so everything mechanically should be fine.......or maybe not!
I dont want to find myself spending a lot of money on a car that is only worth hundreds of pounds anyway and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Chris
