Hi
I know this has been asked many times before but i`m going to ask it again anyway:D

I`m in the process of building a 1242 mpi cinquecento sporting with approx 80bhp,The car is running 14`s with 195/45/14 tyres,
I`ve got a spare low milage punto 60 box in the garage and wondered how different the ratios actually are to the cinquecento(it`s a box from a later 1242 punto that runs 14" wheels as standard)
I know that the 1242 powerband is at lower revs than the cinquecento so was assuming the punto box might be better?
Cheers
Adrian

Don`t suppose you`ve got the cinq sporting ratios to hand?

Hi
Right i think i`ve found the ratios for my punto box and the cinq sporting box

Punto cinq
1st 3,909 3,909
2nd 2,157 2,158
3rd 1,480 1,480
4th 1,121 1,121
5th 0,902 0,829

final
drive 3,866 3,867

So am i correct in thinking only major difference is a slightly longer top gear?
Cheers

Yeah i`ve just seen that the punto box would use 3698 revs to hit 70 in 5th and the cinque box would need 3400 revs to hit 70 in 5th

Would this be enough to cause a problem in day to day driving?
Most of my driving is twisty cornish roads with no motorway use

think you will find it will only affect fuel consumption if im right, due to the higher revs ????

a little off the topic but what you done to attain around 80bhp, in the process of doing a 1242

The 75 engine with the right induction, exhaust an remap should give you in excess of 90bhp.
