Technical where is the mileage stored

posted a tread on not long ago about my dash andI have to get a new dash and i was just wondering is the mileage stored on the ECU or on the dash will getting a new dash do anything to my milage.

The milage is stored on the dash and should be able to be read by the EXAMINER at fiat main dealer.
