Technical Where is the dip stick!?

This is going to sound dumb. I can't find an engine oil dip stick on my car. Does it not have one?

The tube should be on spark-plug side of engine between distributor and block vent. If there's no dip-stick in it then best get another asap

It's not entirely obvious, no orange handle or anything, should just be a length of metal with a loop in the end.

Please, no one tease my engine I haven't even made it that far yet

phoenix and the 3 helpers. Just walked in from the garage admiring my new 1981 X-1/9. (No rust) Thought I would check the oil. Couldn't find the dipstip. Cranked up the club and saw another novice asked where it was located....four hours before I was going to ask the same question! I had to laugh too much. Thank goodness there are others like me. We'll learn. Thanks, my oil is good. Steve, Indpls, Ind. Go Colts.
